Sara
works primarily in the areas of family law, divorce, child custody, paternity,
children in need of protection, and agency adoptions, including appeals in
these areas. Sara was born and raised in Marshall and graduated from the
University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration &
Accounting in 1993. She attended William Mitchell College of Law and received
her law degree in 1996.
Sara worked at various law firms in the Twin Cities area in the areas of family
law and labor law before returning to Marshall.
Sara is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association - Family law
section, Lincoln-Lyon County Bar Association and the 9th District Bar
Association. She has also presented locally and state wide on family law
issues.
She is active in the community and has sat on numerous boards including United
Way, WMMC Foundation, Marshall Area and the Fine Arts Council, she also
participated in the Blandin Community Leadership Program and was a Humphrey
Institute Policy Fellow in 2001-2002. Sara was named a Rising Star by Minnesota
Law and Politics in 2000 and 2001.
Sara is married with one child. She enjoys entertaining, gourmet cooking and
traveling.
